 August 23,  Red Tent Event. This event is an opportunity for Nashville area moms to come and share their birth stories in a sacred, safe space. September 4-September 7. BOLD envisions a global culture that uses the Arts to celebrate women-centered childbirth, honor diversity, and creates space for a woman to make empowered choices about her birth experience.  September. See Karen Brody's play Birth at the Bongo Java After-Hours Theatre. This is a play based on over one hundred interviews Ms. Brody conducted with mothers who gave birth between 2000 and 2004. It tells the story of 8 women and their birth experiences. Afterward, a talkback panel consisting of a midwife, hospital based midwife, pediatrician, obstetrician, and doula will be discussing birth issues. For more information, click here.
